20s/30s Committee

Welcome to the 20s/30s Committee of the Western MA Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club! We warmly invite you to join our dynamic community of outdoor enthusiasts. Our activities are open to all and designed to foster connections through shared outdoor experiences.

What We Offer

Outdoor Adventures: Explore local hikes in the Connecticut River Valley or Berkshire Mountains, paddle along the Deerfield River, or embark on weekend backpacking trips in the White Mountains. Our activities cater to a variety of interests and skill levels. We often complement our activities with a visit to a nearby restaurant, brewery, creamery, marketplace, or community event.

Social and Educational Events: It's not just about the adventure; it's about the people you meet along the way. Join us at our social gatherings, workshops, and volunteer activities to connect with like-minded individuals, learn new skills, and contribute to conservation efforts.

Leadership Opportunities: Have you ever wanted to lead an outdoor adventure? We're always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team of volunteer leaders. Gain valuable leadership skills, share your passion for the outdoors, and inspire others to explore and protect our natural world.

[20s/30s+] Hike at Quabbin Park

Location: Ware, MA

Come join other folks in their 20s/30s+ for a hike at Quabbin Park; from the observation tower to Winsor Dam and the visitor center, taking in views across the Quabbin Reservoir along the way! We'll hike ~5mi with ~800ft elevation gain.

After the hike, everyone is welcome to join for an Interchapter Social at Rapscallion Pub in Sturbridge, MA for food and drinks with folks from the Western MA, Narragansett, Connecticut, and Worcester chapters. The social is $25 and includes food; separate registration required.

Affinity activities are designed for a specific audience, but everyone is welcome. If you do not identify with the specified group, we trust that you have reviewed our allyship criteria, have done your due diligence to educate yourself, and have committed to abide by our Code of Conduct. If you have questions, please contact the trip leader(s) by emailing them for more information.
